Was not expecting to see this, but I’m glad it exists. I really hope this meme sticks around for a while, so many perspectives are using it as a medium to explain their daily lived experiences.

Ethiopian girl guarded from gang rape by three lions.
“The girl had been taken by seven men who wanted to force her to marry one of them. She was beaten repeatedly. Then the lions chased off her captors. The three lions guarded her for about half a day. They stood guard until we found her and then they just left her like a gift and went back into the forest.”
Then, Stuart Williams (the local wildlife ‘expert’) suggests that perhaps the lions mistook the 12 year old girl’s cries for a lion cub. Which seems awfully silly, considering that lions are perfectly capable of telling the apart the gazelles they eat from their own cubs, aren’t they?

I think it’s odd that you can’t joke about rape, when people joke about murder all the time. A lot more people are dying than getting raped. I think it’s a comedian’s job to make everything funny. Nothing is off-limits.

The PA Alcohol Education facebook page has taken down the rape “ad”, but this scenario is still up on their website (Trigger Warning for it too) controltonight.com and able to be seen.
This is what they want you to think: That it’s our fault. After 6 slides of “IT’S YOUR FRIEND’S FAULT AND IT’S YOUR FAULT,” the slide says, “This isn’t Sarah’s fault (my made up friend’s name). The man raping her is a pig and a criminal. But, Sarah was too drunk to make clear decisions and went home with him anyway. Now, half passed out, she’s being forced to have sex, and she’s powerless to stop it.”
So basically it says, “Yeah, rapists are criminals but if you weren’t a whore it wouldn’t have happened to you.”
That’s what they want you to think. THIS IS WHAT THEY’RE FEEDING YOU. That you, your friends, your sisters, your brothers, anyone who is ever a victim of rape or sexual assault, that somehow it is your fault.
Don’t let them give this shit out without consequence. Please don’t.
